Globalised Minds, Roots in the City: Urban Upper-middle Classes in Europe

Applied social research / News / 21 February

«Globalised Minds, Roots in the City”is a research publication that uses empirical evidence generated in four European cities to explore the role of the urban upper middle classes in the transformations experienced by contemporary European societies.

It presents new empirical evidence gathered through comparative research of professional and managerial cadres in four cities in three European countries, in which Andaira participated in carrying out part of the fieldwork.. It features an innovative combination of approaches, methods and techniques of analysis applied to the study of the transformations experienced by European post-national societies. It reveals how these groups are adopting «partial exit» strategies in relation to the nation-state and the urban space they inhabit.
