Tetuán en corto: film and intercultural communication workshop for young people

Tetuán in short is a film and intercultural communication workshop aimed at young people between 14 and 18 years of age. Its objective is to promote cultural coexistence and respect for diversity through a training and awareness-raising process that trains young people in intercultural communication skills and audiovisual film production.

A project in which Andaira has collaborated through the area of citizen participation of the Tangente Group, thanks to the support of the Probitas Foundation.

Throughout different practical sessions based on dynamics of reflection, communication and collective creation, the adolescents worked in teams with the objective of generate short films that address multiculturalism in the neighbourhood.

The selected common thread will be the sense of community and youth participation, two fundamental dimensions for intercultural coexistence. The project will end with the realisation (with the participation of the networked resources and the beneficiaries) of a Film Showcase The results of the process will be viewed in order to initiate new awareness-raising and coexistence actions in the neighbourhoods and to recognise the work that has been most highly valued.

What does it consist of? Tetuán in short?

The communication workshop consisted of 7 weekly sessions in which young people have learned to use audiovisual resources to show their own vision of the neighbourhood and the people who live there. Two groups will be carried out, one located in the area of Ventilla and another in the area of Cuatro Caminos, The aim is to show the different visions that the different neighbourhoods have of the reality of the district and the relations of coexistence that exist within it.
