Psychosocial risks associated with corporate workforce management practices

Describe and characterise business labour management practices that may involve psychosocial risks for the people who carry them out.

This research, carried out in 2008 for ISTAS, Instituto Sindical de Trabajo Ambiente y Salud, with funding from the Fondo de Investigación Sanitaria del Instituto de Salud Carlos III, aimed to describe and characterise corporate labour management practices that may involve psychosocial risks for the people who carry them out, in the fulfilment of their work responsibilities.

The semantic analysis of the terminology used within different fields and job profiles was developed on the basis of primary data, obtained through focus group discussions. The main analysers considered in relation to business labour management practices were: changes in working hours, pay, promotion, task design, work pace and management styles.
