Proposals for the elaboration of the II Action Plan for equality of women and men in the information society
You can access the report that we have prepared for the Women's Institute from GrupoTangente through the IOE Collective, the report of proposals for the elaboration of the II Action Plan for the equality of women and men in the information society.
The Women's Institute, aware of the need to join efforts to address gender inequalities and differences in IS, launched an Inter-ministerial Working Group on Gender and ICTs (GTI) at the end of 2012.
The objectives set, to be achieved by the GTI, were the following:
- Raise awareness and engage institutions in gender and ICT work.
- Elaborate joint strategies and work proposals for the promotion and development of gender and ICT policies that will constitute inputs for the elaboration of a new Action Plan for Equality between women and men in the Information Society.
Six work sessions were held, developed in a participatory manner, which allowed the involvement of the members of the group, avoiding, as far as possible, work overload.
The participants have been able to collectively analyse the different conditioning factors of gender inequalities and differences in the IS and, finally, they have generated a set of objectives and proposals to advance towards equality between women and men in the Information Society (IS).
The work dynamic has been developed in a participatory way based on “users” stories".
It is based on group analysis of specific cases of ICT use by women and men to analyse how digital inequalities and differences are embodied in particular situations of inequality.
This report is the product of the group work and reflects the results obtained in relation to the objectives set, highlighting the main conclusions and proposals for the elaboration of the new Action Plan for Equality between women and men in the Information Society.
