Management of a community resource centre in Cañada Real Galiana
To respond to the situation of disadvantage and social exclusion experienced by the residents of the Madrid settlement known as “La Cañada”.
This project, developed by Andaira for the Social Services of the Villa de Vallecas district of the Madrid City Council from 2008 to 2010, was born in order to respond to lhe disadvantaged situation and exclusion social people living in the Madrid settlement known as “La Cañada”. To this end, several interconnected and complementary lines of action were developed, aimed at alleviating these imbalances. Based on research and coordination with the rest of the social agents present in the territory, as well as the reception and channelling of the demands and needs of the resident population, services and actions were established and developed aimed at different profiles (minors, women, ethnic minorities and unemployed people). The main lines of action developed were the following: legal advice and socio-occupational guidance, basic training and social skills, socio-educational support, community dynamisation, education in values and the creation of healthy leisure alternatives for the recovery and transformation of the environment.
