Post-election survey of Internet users on Cyberdemocracy
What different types of internet users can we find, and what differential monitoring have they done of the election campaign?
What are the factors that most explain the vote for Podemos and for Ciudadanos?
Is being more politically active online correlated with voting behaviour?
These and other questions have guided the analysis of the Post-election study in which we have participated through the elaboration of a survey and the statistical exploitation of the results for the Cyberdemocracy Research Group. In this survey, 1,500 telephone interviews were conducted with adult Internet users throughout Spain.
The objectives of this study have been:
- To learn about different uses of the Internet that help to define different profiles of Internet users in relation to their performance in the last general elections: from campaign monitoring to voting behaviour.
- Identify which factors, sociodemographic and opinion surveys on the democratic system, The most important reasons for having voted or not, as well as for having voted for Podemos or Ciudadanos.
