Cooperland: citizen cooperative practices

Social and educational intervention / Community participation and development / 25 February

The COOPERLAND project aims to promote citizen participation in the design of public policies through the definition of needs, resources and alternatives carried out in a collaborative manner. Public policies cover large legislative areas and do not always have sufficient space and resources to intervene from a micro-political perspective that takes into account the initiatives that originate from and are supported by citizens. The aim is to give a voice to collective solutions that the population devises in areas that fall within the remit of municipalities or that can be widely favoured by them: transport, culture, housing, care, sports, etc., and to transfer them in a systematised way to local governments, optimising the design of public policies.

Cooperland is funded by the European Commission and its development is being carried out between different organisations in Spain, the Netherlands, Greece, Italy, Estonia. For more information you can visit the project website.
