The study aims to explore and understand citizens« social imaginaries and experiences of culture. It analyses the definitions and representations that people attribute to the concept of »culture", as well as their understanding of cultural participation in its various forms. In addition, the cultural experiences, practices and links that people develop are explored, examining the emotional and symbolic relationship they have with culture.
The study also seeks to identify the value that culture has in the daily lives of individuals, its role in the construction of identities and its perceived benefits, such as individual well-being, social cohesion and community development.
The methodology applied in this project combines focus groups - which allow us to capture the social imaginaries, representations and shared experiences around the object of study - and in-depth interviews - which offer a more intimate and flexible space for dialogue than group techniques, making it possible to access individual accounts and understand in greater depth the argumentative and experiential frameworks of each person.
