Care for women victims of gender-based violence in the Autonomous Community of Aragon

Improve the prevention of gender-based violence, as well as comprehensive care for women victims of this problem..

This qualitative study, carried out between 2009 and 2010, was promoted by the Department of Health and Consumer Affairs of the Government of Aragon, in collaboration with the Aragonese Institute for Women (Department of Social and Family Services of the Government of Aragon), with the aim of improve the prevention of gender-based violence, as well as comprehensive care for women who are victims of this problem.

For its development, in-depth interviews and discussion groups were carried out with different profiles of women attended to by the aforementioned services, who were at different stages of the process of overcoming the violence suffered, probing in their entirety the care itineraries developed, in order to provide useful and applicable recommendations, capable of improving actions against gender violence, from a perspective of integrality.
