Access to and use of the municipal services of Getafe City Council, from a gender perspective
To identify the variables that determine the possible differentiated uses based on the performance of the gender-sex system. In this way, the aim was to facilitate the implementation of measures favouring equal access and use by women and men.
This study, carried out in 2010 in the municipality of Getafe, was promoted by the Women and Equality Department as part of the actions set out in the 3rd Plan for Equal Opportunities for Women and Men of the Getafe City Council 2007-2010.
One of the difficulties in improving access to and use of public services is the lack of studies and data that can show the relationship between gender and access to and use of public services. The aim of this work was to identify the variables that determine the possible differentiated uses based on the performance of the gender-sex system. In this way, the aim was to facilitate the implementation of measures favouring equal access and use between women and men, as well as to present the analysis of the data in such a way as to facilitate decision-making on possible actions aimed at eliminating the gender gaps detected. At the same time, from an applied research perspective, the aim was to highlight the need to collect and analyse information of this nature in order to adapt the resources to the people they are aimed at in terms of design, development and evaluation.
