The study on LGTBI+ people with disabilities has the dual objective of, on the one hand, to make an exploratory approach to the object of study [LGTBI+ People with Disabilities] and on the other hand, an analysis of the situation of discrimination, prejudice and violence they suffer, from an intersectional approach, in different areas of life [social, family, education, health, etc.]. Moreover, it is a study with a proactive and transformative vocation, Ultimately, the aim is not only to understand the reality of the object of study, but also to propose changes and public policies focused on guaranteeing a life of full rights for these groups.

It is a very relevant study due to its innovative nature, There is little sociological research that addresses disability, gender identity and sexual orientation, especially with a focus on equality and non-discrimination and an intersectional approach.

Another valuable element of this study has to do with the methodological premises under which it is developed. It is a research study that addresses the object of study combining different methodologies. It includes an important qualitative work [50 interviews with LGTBI+ persons with disabilities, 10 life stories of LGTBI+ persons with disabilities and 15 interviews with professionals from different fields], the quantitative analysis by means of a questionnaire answered by more than 400 people and 3 large spaces for participation The project has been implemented through a number of specific actions or during the project's implementation [the setting up of a steering group, the strategic monitoring committee and the seminar of key actors].

With regard to the study's Driving Group, it is made up of the participation of a large number of the main entities in the field of disability and LGTBI+. Likewise, the Strategic Monitoring Commission is made up of representatives from the General Directorate for the real and effective equality of LGTBI+ people, from the Ministry of Equality and the Royal Board on Disability, from the Ministry of Social Rights, Consumption and Agenda 2030.

Finally, this is a study that we conducted as a Tangent, two of its partner organisations: Andaira and Andecha, by providing complementarities in the areas of expertise.
